In addition to the Ukrainian crew of the Mi-8 helicopter from the 18th separate helicopter detachment of the UN Stabilization Mission in the DRC, service personnel of the national contingents of the Republic of India, the Republic of Uruguay and the Republic of Guatemala also were involved. The maneuvers were monitored by representatives of the UN Mission headquarters, led by the Commander of the UN Stabilization Mission in the DRC, Lt. Gen. Ricardo Augusto Ferreira Costa Neves

 

The event took place near Sake village in North Kivu province. According to the exercise scenario, radical militants blocked roads to make it harder for peacekeepers to pass, took hostages and wounded one of them.

 

The task of the Ukrainian crew of the Mi-8 helicopter was to cover the ground forces using aircraft guidance elements, as well as to airlift rapid reaction force personnel.

 

It should be noted that during the exercises, all tasks of the Ukrainian Mi-8 crew were performed confidently and professionally.
